Guess it's time to go there...

So I really didn't want to hit anything political right away... but I couldn't resist.

Not to long ago a friend of mine posted a status update on facebook that read something like this... Name Here "is sad that abortion is being federally funded again." Obviously it received a significant number of comments. Two in particular stuck out to me.

The first being... "I wonder what all the Christians who voted for Obama think now?" Or something like that. I didn't vote for him, so I couldn't answer that. However, in response to it, a young man that I know, who happens to live in another country is a big Obama fan, and happens to be a Christian. His response was something like this... "Poloitics are about more than obortion. And other countries are finally starting to like the U.S. again."

So my question is this. If Jesus were walking the earth today, would he feel that politics, and the relationship between countries around the world or the life of unborn children is more important?

And why?

"Coexist" - Finding a happy medium?

If you haven't seen this bumper sticker I am sure you soon will. They seem to be showing up more and more. I have a somewhat ironic story related to one of my first sightings of this bumper sticker...

For the year that I was a server at Asiago's I worked with two young ladies who, after working with them for some time I come to find out that they are dating. Each other. My boss, knowing that I am a Christian tells me this to see how I will react.

"Really? I didn't know that." I said. I don't think that was quite the reaction she was hoping for, but none the less, I am sure she thought it would change the way I viewed them. It didn't.

One of the two girls was VERY out spoken about her "beliefs", and about her feelings towards to Christians. She made very good points, to which I responded with, "I totally agree. Christians are judgmental, and they do say things they shouldn't. And I am very sorry about that." I don't think that was the reaction she was hoping for either. At any rate, she loved arguing with me, and I loved listening and loved trying to break every stereo type she had accepted about Christians.

The thing that I find ironic is that she put the above bumper sticker on her car. I asked her what it meant to her. She said, the we should all accept and love each other regardless of our religious beliefs, etc. I didn't say it (and maybe I should have), but I found it interesting that she held such strong opinions against Christians, but didn't want them to have the same attitude or opinions towards her?

The point being. What is the happy medium (coexistence) between being "overly" accepting (can you even be overly accepting?), and being judgmental? How do you show people who's lifestyle you don't necessarily agree with God's love with out crossing either line? How do you think Jesus would do it if he was here today?

Your turn!

Okay. This week, I am having a hard time coming up with anything to discuss.

If you have something that you think would make a good topic for discussion, post it!

Thanks!

All right, first serious one!

I personally am not TOTALLY decided on this topic but am sure that some of you will have a solid opinion about it.

Homeschooling Vs. Public Schooling Vs. Private Christian Schooling

This ones for the guys:

College sports vs. Pro sports

Seams basketball and football are really the only two sports that there is really any question here (and of course Lacrosse, which people might know if ESPN played more games.... anyway), but I know people who are much more into pro football, and others who are much more into college football.

What do you think, and why?
